Passengers were able to check in as early as 30 days and up to 12 hours before scheduled departure. However, this would depend on the ticket fare:
Light – check-in 3 days before departure
Classic – check-in 7 days before departure
Premium – check-in 30 days before departure
Exceptions
Online check-in was available for most flights, however, there were a few exceptions. Online check-in was not available for flights departing from Constanta, Florence, Lisbon, Menorca, Palma de Mallorca, Pescara, Timisoara and Tel Aviv, as well as flights to and from the following airports in Germany: Hamburg, Stuttgart, Cologne-Bonn and Munich.
If online check-in was not available for your flight, you could easily perform your check-in at the airport.

Currently, the airline offers its flagship Mint product on all Transatlantic routes to London. JetBlue Economy Seats
JetBlue has refreshed some of its A321 aircraft with its new Mint Suites, Mint Studios, and restyled seating in economy. The airline is also in the middle of restyling its fleet of A320s but this has been held up by the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the refresh comes a slight reduction in pitch, but JetBlue claims with its new ergonomic seats that it won’t feel like you’ve lost the inches. The new seats also come with 10.1-inch touchscreen TVs.

The refresh also brings power outlets (standard plug and USB) to every economy seat, whereas, the current A320 series and the E-190 series do not have power outlets.
JetBlue Mint Seats
With the new Mint Studio, JetBlue claims to have the largest bed and TV on a U.S. airline with an extra seat to work and entertain. The Mint Suites all have life-flat beds, direct aisle access, and a sliding privacy door.

Cocktails might include the signature Mint Condition, with Bombay Sapphire gin or Tito’s vodka, ginger, lime, cucumber, and mint, and they offer various wines curated by the folks at Parcelle Wine. Как перейти на другой уровень
В программе Flying Blue существуют так называемые «баллы опыта» XP (Experience Points), которые и влияют на повышение уровня участия в программе. При накоплении определенного количества ХР участник переходит на новый уровень.
- Чтобы перейти на уровень Silver необходимо накопить 100 ХР;
- Для перехода на уровень Gold понадобится еще 180 ХР;
- Получение уровня Platinum возможно при накоплении еще 300 ХР.
Пропускать уровни нельзя. Все повышения проходят строго последовательно. То есть нельзя с уровня Explorer сразу перейти на Gold или Platinum. Все должно быть последовательно.
При переходе на следующий уровень, необходимое для перехода количество баллов снимается. Пример: вы накопили 114 баллов на уровне Explorer и перешли на уровень Silver. За это с вашего счета снимут 100 баллов и у вас останется всего 14. Но зато они сразу пойдут в зачет для перехода на следующий уровень.
Начисляются баллы ХР по следующей схеме:

How does this play into American’s overall strategy?
One thing is for sure — American Airlines sure has changed stuff up in the past year. For years American management seemed to be asleep at the wheel, but that most definitely hasn’t been the case in the past year, as that trend has been reversed:
- American Airlines and Qatar Airways announced a strategic partnership, and it has even been stated that American may fly to Doha
- American Airlines and Alaska Airlines expanded their partnership, and Alaska plans to join oneworld; the two airlines intend to introduce reciprocal upgrades soon
- American Airlines is adding long haul flights out of Seattle, so far to Bangalore, London, and Shanghai
- Now American Airlines is adding long haul flights out of JFK, thanks to a new partnership with JetBlue
The thing that stands out here most is that American is really going after Delta. American is adding long haul flights out of both New York and Seattle, which have historically been Delta hubs. Meanwhile American is retreating at LAX, a market where the airline has grown so much in recent years.
For so long Delta has been in the driver’s seat in the US airline industry, so to see American go on the offense against Delta is pretty remarkable.
I commend American for trying to get creative, though I do think this is all a big gamble, and we’ll see if it pays off:
- On the one hand, individually a lot of these partnerships make sense, at least from the viewpoint of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”
- On the other hand, the partnerships seem all over the place; American will be partnering with both Alaska and JetBlue on domestic flights, while neither Delta nor United partner with any other major US airlines
There’s some irony to American Airlines, the world’s largest carrier, relying on two other US airlines to provide feed for its international network.
